Haddad Selected All-America Third Team; Third All-America Honor for Career

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Maci Haddad of California Lutheran University women's volleyball earned 2021 All-America Third Team which the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Tuesday. This is the 40th annual AVCA All-America team for Division III. 

Haddad (Bakersfield, Calif.) joins elite company and is the just the fifth Regal to garner All-America status three times. The senior is on the same list as Jackie (Russell) Griffin, Kylie McLogan, Michelle Lawrence, Sarah Pappas. 

"Maci is extremely worthy of the All American nod," said Cal Lutheran Women's Volleyball Head Coach Kellee Roesel. "Everyone in the nation knew we were going to set her as much as possible and she still put up impressive numbers. We played one of the toughest schedules in Division III and yet she found ways to carry us both offensively and defensively despite our struggles as a young team. 

"She is the embodiment of the type of student athlete and young woman we are helping to produce in our program and I couldn't be more proud to be her Coach.," s "​What an amazing honor for both Maci and the Cal Lutheran Women's Volleyball program. This award is a tribute to her hard work, dedication and belief. Assistant Coach, Monica Lundgren, has done such a wonderful job mentoring Maci and it is proven by such recognition."

Haddad wrapped up an All-America season and is currently ranked seventh in the nation for blocks per set with 1.19 and 22nd for hitting percentage with .366. 

The 2021 class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 29 schools. There also were six student-athletes on the first three teams who are the first-ever players from their schools to be AVCA All-Americans.
