Aces for ALS Fittingly Ends with an Ace; Regals Sweep Beavers

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University women's volleyball team took to the court for the second straight night as they hosted their first annual Aces for ALS matches. The Regals served six aces in the game and defeated Caltech 25-20, 25-17, 25-21. 

The match ended perfectly as Maci Haddad served an ace for the final point. The Regals raised awareness in honor or Lauren Heller's father, Kevin, after his 18-month battle with ALS. 



The Regals swung well during the match and recording an attacking percentage of .280, while holding the Beavers to just .138. The Purple and Gold also showed their dominance and height at the net and totaled 11 blocks. 

Haddad led the way and had 14 kills while hitting with a .667 clip. She added two service aces and five total blocks. 

Sophia Muller was next with eight kills and Heller added seven more. Morgan Given and Julia Olsen were next with six apiece. Heller had eight digs and Olsen tallied six blocks. 

Jenna Jones made her presence known behind the serving line and tallied a team-high three aces. She was all over the court as she added 23 assists and eight digs. 

With the win, the Regal improve to 5-3 in conference play and 7-12 overall. Up next, they travel to Occidental for a match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
