Whittier, Calif. – Regals volleyball took on the Whittier Poets tonight on the road and came home with a 3-0 sweep.
Maci Haddad led the offense with 12 kills followed by teammate Kennedy Crane who had seven of her own. Morgan Given tacked on another six followed by Sophia Muller with five.
The Regals took the first set with a score of 25-18. They had a total of 14 kills within the first 25 points. They kept the offensive presence high and won the second set with ease.
They capped off the second set with a score of 25-16 and tallied another 10 kills before heading into the third.
The Poets tried to creep back in and push the Regals to a fourth set but the Purple and Gold secured the sweep with a final score of 25-21. They had another 14 kills in this final set.
Tess Holbert had 30 assists on the night accompanied by 14 digs. Libero Isabella Wade had 19 digs herself.
Holbert, Wade, and Muller were each able to serve an ace to help with the offensive efforts from the serving line.
The Regals return to Gilbert Arena Saturday at 6 pm to take on La Verne for their homecoming weekend game.
