In keeping with the mission of California Lutheran University Athletics Department the Sports Medicine program is dedicated to developing exceptional student athletes, scholars, citizens and leaders. Top of the line facilities, personnel and technology are utilized to enhance physical readiness for optimal performance, provide injury prevention strategies, and promote recovery from injury. Support for student athletes is provided by a team of clinical physicians, athletic trainers, sports performance team, sports nutrition specialists, mental health specialists, and other allied health providers. While utilizing an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach to promote injury prevention, wellness education and effective management of athletic injuries clinicians create a collaborative and innovative culture for optimum care for student athletes.
Along with the treatment and care of our student athletes, the Sports Medicine program is designed to give our Exercise Science students an opportunity to gain "hands-on" experience. This experience will assist them in attaining the clinical proficiencies needed to apply for graduate programs in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Physicians' Assistant, and other health care professions.
