Thousand Oaks, Calif. – California Lutheran Women's Volleyball finished off a full sweep of the University of La Verne Leopards with the second 3-0 win of the season.
The Regals started off set 1 strong, jumping out to a 9-4 lead. The Leopards would chip away at that lead and eventually come even at 22-22. Cal Lutheran took advantage of a pair of La Verne errors and a service ace from Sophia Muller to claim the first set 25-22.
The second set saw the Regals take another early lead of 10-3 behind serving runs by Sophia Muller and Jenna Jones. The Regals would hold that solid lead and force the Leopards into a negative hitting percentage en route to a 25-15 win.
Set 3 stayed tight with the Regals holding a slight edge until another late tie at 19-19. With the game in the balance, Cal Lutheran was lifted by kills from Maci Haddad, Kennedy Crane, and Morgan Given to finish of the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
Sophia Muller led the Regals with 12 total points while Maci Haddad paced the team in kills with 9.
Defensively, the Regals were led again by Sophia Muller's 13 digs along with 12 digs from Isabella Wade.
The Regals will play their final road match of the regular season against Caltech Friday at 7:00pm.
