The Regals finish out the 2021 Pacific Coast Classic with a 0-3 loss to the Banana Slugs of UC-Santa Cruz.
The offense was once again led by senior Maci Haddad who had 11 kills with a .240 hitting percentage. Freshman Miranda Chan had a stand out .417 hitting percentage on 12 attempts, but the Regals were unable to control the net defensively as UC-Santa Cruz notched 7 blocks to Cal Lutheran's zero.
In the back row, Julia Trento tallied 20 digs to go along with the 18 turned in by Sadie Peete. Unfortunately, Cal Lutheran was not able to keep pace in the serve and receive game as UC-Santa Cruz's 11 aces combined with Cal Lutheran's 7 service errors proved to be the difference in the match.
The Regals will be back on their home court Friday Sept. 10 to open up the East to West Battle against Trinity (Tex.).
