Senior Day Win Clinches SCIAC Tournament Birth

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – California Lutheran Women's Volleyball celebrated Senior Night with a big win over the Bulldogs of Redlands to finish the regular season 11-16 (9-7 in conference) and clinch a SCIAC tournament birth.

In the first set, the Regals never trailed on the way to a 25-13 win. They posted a dominant team hitting percentage of .429 while keeping the Bulldogs down to .033.

The second set saw the Bulldogs take an early 9-4 lead. The Regals fought back to a 15-15 tie. The teams traded points from there to a 23-23 time. With the game on the line, a Maci Haddad kill and a Redlands ball handling error finished off the set 25-23.

The Regals took control of set three from the outset with a 10-2 lead. The set was never in doubt from there with the final kills, fittingly, going to seniors Lauren Heller and Morgan Given for the 25-19 victory.

Maci Haddad paced the Regals with 13 kills. Tonight's seniors contributed on the offensive end with 9 kills for Morgan Given, 5 Kills for Lauren Heller, and 1 kill for Emily Wasson.

Setter Tess Holbert contributed 29 assists to the effort.

The Regals will kick off the SCIAC tournament on Thursday against the #3 ranked Athenas of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
