Cal Lutheran Host Victory Club Golf Tournament

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The California Lutheran University athletics department hosted its annual Victory Club Golf Tournament at North Ranch Country Club on Monday.

Throughout its history, Cal Lutheran has earned a reputation for its high standard of academic and athletic excellence. The Victory Club aims to maintain and increase that distinction through investment from alumni, family, and friends of Cal Lutheran Athletics.

It was a fun and successful day as coaches and administrators were able to talk with plenty of alumni and supporters.

President Lori Varlotta wrapped up the day with a speech.

"In terms of athletic momentum, it's fitting to call out the tremendous efforts our athletic administrators, coaches, trainers, student assistants have expended this year," Varlotta said. "Cal Lutheran coaches and their staffs have done an impressive job in recruiting, training, mentoring, and retaining our student athletes.

"This dedicated team of coaches and assistants have kept their roster numbers high even during abbreviated or halted seasons. Their efforts have helped individual athletes and whole teams enjoy the camaraderie and challenge of practice, competition, post-season appearances.

"Their efforts have also helped keep our enrollment numbers at a respectable level at a time when many college students around the country are stopping out or transferred to less expensive universities. Athletic's impact on enrollment is significant since 25% of our undergraduate students are athletes."

The day consisted of a Texas scramble tournament, hole-in-one prize, longest drive contest, closest to the pin contest and a putting contest.
