Kingsmen Third in 200 Medley Relay; All-SCIAC for Kenny, Rodarte, Nybo, Gaitan

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Miles Gaitan, Nick Kenny, Andreas Nybo and Luke Rodarte earned All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in the 200-yard medley relay to kick off the SCIAC Championships on Wednesday night. 

The championship are Wednesday through Saturday at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center in La Mirada, Calif. 

The quartet placed third in the first event of the SCIAC Championships as they finished the 200 medley relay with one minute and 29.50 seconds. Gaitan got the event started. He was followed by Rodarte and then Nybo. Kenny finished off the event as the team got on the podium. 

On the women's side the Regals placed eighth with a time of 1:51.36. Alice Peterson started the event and handed it off to Aubrey Blickman. Ella Roberts continued and the team finished with Kyrie Fairbairn. 

In the 800 free relay, the team of Keegan March, Jack Caelen, Stephen Blaauw and Nybo narrowly missed All-SCIAC as the team finished fourth with 6:51.69. 

For the women, Peterson, Kendall Moffitt, Fairbairn and Avery Conrad raced to a sixth-place finish with 8:02.81. 

Through eight events, the Kingsmen were fourth with 94 points and the Regals were seventh with 68. 

The SCIAC Championships continue tomorrow with the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 free and 200 free relay.
