Haddad, March, Moffitt Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University student-athletes Maci Haddad, Keegan March and Kendall Moffitt earned Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.

Haddad garnered the Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week, while March and Moffitt swept Swimmer of the Week. 

Haddad earned the honor for the second time in her career, and March and Moffitt garnered the award in their first collegiate meet. 

Haddad (Bakersfield, Calif.) helped guide California Lutheran to a 2-1 week that featured 3-0 SCIAC wins over La Verne and Caltech, and a 3-1 loss to No. 20 UC Santa Cruz. The senior outside hitter floored 32 kills (3.20 kills per set), registered a .475 hitting percentage, served up a trio of aces, notched five digs, and combined for 14 total blocks (1 solo, 13 assisted) during the week.

March (University Place, Wash.) helped pace the Kingsmen to 297.50 points during the two-day Malibu Invitational. March won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:01.05, and the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.88. He also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (47.85), tied for sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (22.15), and helped the Kingsmen's 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay teams secure top honors with respective times of 1:26.15 and 3:28.31. 

Moffitt (Atascadero, Calif.) led the Regals at the Malibu Invitational as they collected 138 points at the two-day meet. Moffitt touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:52.43, finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:01.01), and placed fourth overall in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.30. She also helped propel the 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:43.51) and the 400-yard medley relay team (4:12.42) to second-place finishes.
