Cal Lutheran Golf Ready for SCIAC Championships

BEAUMONT, Calif. — California Lutheran University golf is set to compete in the 2022 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships, Sunday through Tuesday at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon. 

Tee times for the three-round championship begin at approximately 8:56 a.m. on Sunday for the men, and 10:32 a.m. for the women - both on the "Champions Course". Monday and Tuesday's tee times are slated for 10 a.m. for both men and women with the men competing on the "Champions Course" and the women competing on the "Legends Course". 

The SCIAC champion is crowned after seven rounds of competition during the season as the league squads meet twice during the regular season playing two rounds at each event, and finishing with the three-round championship. Tickets are available for the championships. It will also be live streamed and have live stats.

The Regals sit in third-place after four rounds, and have a four-stroke lead over fourth-place. The Kingsmen are currently tied for fourth. They are nine strokes behind third and 18 out of second. 

Family, friends, and fans are more than welcome to attend and view the 2022 SCIAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships, knowing that they must abide by the health and safety rules and course regulations. 

  • Tickets must be purchased ahead of time for all spectators.

  • Spectators must check-in at the SCIAC table and receive their wristband for the day which must be worn at all times.

  • Children under 12 and students/staff/faculty that are free with institutional ID are still required to register on TicketLeap.

  • All spectators should plan to walk the course. The course will determine the availability of carts for spectators each day at a cost of $20 per day.

  • Spectators are not permitted to bring any outside food or beverage to the course.

  • There will be NO tee-shirts for sale at the championship.

  • Spectators will be asked to put all electronic devices such as cell phones to be placed on silent mode.

  • Only coaches are permitted to coach the athletes while they are on the course. Any conversation with athletes could be interpreted as unauthorized coaching under USGA Rule 8, and the athlete could be given a two-stroke penalty as a result.

  • Spectators may help look for and locate errant balls, but should not touch or move the ball or anything near the ball.

  • There is a lot of wildlife on the course, including snakes. Spectators are encouraged to remain on cart paths and out of the brush areas.
