Dijkstra First Team All-America, De Souza, Gardhouse Honorable Mention

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kemi Dijkstra earned First Team All-America and Izzy De Souza and Kaitlin Gardhouse were Honorable Mention the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced on Monday.

This is the ninth straight year the Regals water polo program has had three All-Americans. The trio led Cal Lutheran to the postseason yet again as the Regals played in their 16th straight SCIAC Tournament. 

Dijkstra was named First Team All-America for the first time and is now a two-time All-American. She was Second Team in 2022. Dijkstra led the Regals with 58 goals and  impressed with a shooting percentage of .558. She added 25 assists and recorded a total of 83 points. She added 40 steals and 31 drawn ejections. 

De Souza has been named All-America in all three seasons as a Regal. She was Honorable Mention for the second straight year and was First Team in 2021. De Souza started 22 games in goal and played in a total of 25. She made 251 saves with a percentage of .558. She had 38 steals and 10 assists, while only allowing 199 goals in 662 minutes. 

Gardhouse earned her fourth straight All-America honor and was Honorable Mention. She was Second Team in 2020, First Team in 2021, and Honorable Mention in 2022. A scorer and facilitator, Gardhouse was first on the team with 51 assists and second in goals with 41. She led the team with 92 points and had a shooting percentage of .466. She also led the Regals with 73 drawn ejections and 48 steals.
