Dijkstra Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University student-athlete Kemi Dijkstra was selected Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. 

Cal Lutheran women's water polo has had an athlete of the week named for three straight weeks. 

Dijkstra (Breda, Netherlands) earned her third Athlete of the Week honor and was named offensive. She netted 11 goals and two assists over five games, including an 8-7 win over Ottawa (Ariz.) University and a 10-9 sudden-death overtime defeat to University of Toronto. The Regals also played against tough Division I and II competition. She added eight steals and four drawn exclusions on the week.

Up next for the Regals in the Convergence Tournament in Claremont, Calif. Cal Lutheran will play Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 10 a.m. and Villanova at 3 p.m.
