Holley Named Newcomer of the Year, Second Team All-SCIAC

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. Janna Holley was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Newcomer of the Year and landed on Second Team to represent Cal Lutheran women's basketball on the all-conference awards.

Holley is just the second Regals to garner Newcomer of the Year. Chelsea Jacoby earned the honor in 2014.

Holley (Winnetka, Calif.) received Newcomer of the Year and Second Team after spearheading the Regals' push for their best finish in the conference since 2017-18, placing fourth and earning the final SCIAC Tournament bid. The rookie point guard was runner-up on the assists leaderboard (4.4 per game) while her 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, 11.7 points and 1.3 steals were all Top-20 marks as she just missed qualifying for third in three-point percentage (41.7 with 0.9 made per game).

The Regals are back in action tonight. No. 4 Cal Lutheran is at No. 1 La Verne in a SCIAC Tournament semifinal matchup. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
