CLAREMONT, Calif. — Janna Holley made a layup with seven seconds left and Cal Lutheran women's basketball defeated Pomona-Pitzer 60-58 on Saturday night. 

The Regals end the Regular season with a record of 15-9 and 9-7 in SCIAC play. Cal Lutheran had 38 points in the paint and just 16 turnovers. Leading the offense was Sara Mills with 15 points She was followed by Aliya DiMuro, as she had a double-double with 14 points and 15. Holley added 13 points and Naomi Gipson had nine points, eight rebounds and five assists.

The Regals started strong as they opened the game with a layup by Gipson.  The Regals managed to take the first momentum of the game and wen up 10-4. bDespite the Sagehens' efforts, the Regals took the first quarter 14-8. 

The Regals came back ready to continue their momentum as they opened the second quarter, 16-8. The Sagehens refused to stay down as they built up their own speed and overtook the Regals at 19-16. Cal Lutheran wasn't pushed around for long as the Regals quickly claimed the lead 21-19. The Sagehens and Regals traded shots, but the Regals pulled ahead, 26-22. The Sagehens kept up as Cal Lutheran had a 30-27 lead at the break. 

The Regals kept their rhythm going as they opened the second half, 32-27. Both teams made shots before being stuck in a standstill for just under two minutes. The Regals managed to break through Pomona-Pitzer's defense, before the Sagehens scored again. Both teams found themselves in another deadlock for three minutes before Cal Lutheran broke through again. The Sagehens and Regals traded shots down the stretch of the third as Cal Lutheran had a slim 45-44 lead going to the fourth. 

Cal Lutheran came back determined to win as the Regals opened the final quarter 47-44. The Sagehens and Regals traded shots back and forth as Cal Lutheran kept the lead 54-50. The Sagehens managed to tie the game with only 30 seconds left at 58-58. The Regals managed to take the game with one final layup in the last seven seconds by Holley, winning 60-58. 

Cal Lutheran is in the SCIAC Tournament which starts on Thursday. More information will be provided soon.
