ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Erick Mejia was selected All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First Team, and Justin Magana and Chris Pelaez both garnered Second Team as the trio represented California Lutheran University men's soccer.

The 2021 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Soccer teams were announced Tuesday following a vote conducted by the league's member head coaches.  

Mejia (Agua Dolce, Calif.) earned Frist Team All-SCIAC, capping off a stellar regular season campaign. The senior defender started all 17 games he played in. The Kingsmen have shut out six teams and only allowed nine goals in the games he has played. He has added one goal on the offensive front and totaled 19 shots. He helped lead the Purple and Gold to a record of 10-6-2 and 7-4-1 in conference. 

Magana (Fillmore, Calif.) earned his first All-SCIAC honor and was named to the Second Team. The senior midfielder has been a staple on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He has started 17 of the 18 games he had played in this year including starting all 12 of the conference games. He has added one goal and six shots on goal. 

Pelaez (Arieta, Calif.) was selected All-SCIAC for the first time and was on the Second Team. The junior midfielder tied for the third-most points on the team. He scored two goals, added a team-high three assists, for a total of seven points. He took a total of 26 shots, with 14 being on goal, for a shot percentage of .538. He came up clutch for the Kingsmen and had two game-winning goals. 

The Kingsmen clinched a berth in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Cal Lutheran travels to Redlands on Wednesday for a match at 7 p.m.
