Kingsmen Take Down Panthers For The Second Time This Season

Orange, Calif. – Kingsmen soccer traveled to Chapman in pursuit of another conference victory. It was the Panther's senior night but the Purple and Gold brought home the 2-1 win.

The scoring started early for the Kingsmen with a goal from Giovanni Torres. This was his third on the season.

Matthew Myers was weaving his way through the Chapman defenders early in the first half. He cut back and found the foot of Torres which resulted in their first goal. Torres kept his composure at the top of the box and hit a one touch line drive on the ground past the Panther goalkeeper in the 6th minute.

The scoring stayed quiet on both sides for the remainder of the half. It wasn't until the 70th minute that the Kingsmen found the back of the net again.

Freshman Jackson Endsley put another one on the scoreboard for the Purple and Gold, marking his third goal of the season as well.

The Kingsmen tallied a total of 12 shots between seven different players. Chris Pelaez, Erick Mejia, Cesar Sagastume, Alejandro Rodriquez, and JP Melgoza were also involved in the offense.

Ivan Lumrbano was back in the keeper's box tonight and played all 90 minutes. He recorded three saves throughout the night.

The Kingsmen return to William Rolland Stadium on Saturday at 2 pm and will be honoring their seniors.
