Kingsmen Extend Their Undefeated Streak With a 4-0 Shutout

The Kingsmen soccer team played in their home opener tonight against Birmingham Southern.

Coming off a two-game win streak, the purple and gold immediately took advantage of playing in William Rolland Stadium and put three goals away in the first half.

To start the scoring off for the Kingsmen, freshman Jackson Endsley hit a right foot dime into the upper left corner, giving the Panther keeper no chance at a save.

As the game went on the momentum continued to build. Senior Christian Gonzalez took the ball up the sideline beating two defenders before crossing it to Giovanni Torres who hit a beautiful cross body goal.

7 minutes later Torres took it into his own hands again to capitalize off a loose ball right outside of the Panthers goal box. Torres caught the keeper off his line and hit a right foot knuckle ball that landed right under the cross bar.

It was tight second half where the Kingsmen were having a hard time finding the net. After a few shots on frame, the purple and gold put another one in the back of the net.

Senior Igor Lumbrano connected with Christian Gonzalez to help him score for his third game in a row.

The Kingsmen finished with a 4-0 win and look to extend their undefeated streak on Sunday when they travel to CMS.
