Kingsmen Defeat Sagehens In The Final 10 Minutes

POMONA, Calif – The Kingsmen traveled to Pomona to face off against the Sagehens in pursuit of another conference win.

Chris Pelaez finalized this conference win with a goal in the last 10 minutes.

The Kingsmen tested the Sagehen goalkeeper with six shots in the first half. Their offensive presence was there but they couldn't quite find the back of the net in the first 45.

The purple and gold's back line shut down Pomona's offense and only allowed one shot on keeper Ivan Lumbrano in the first half.

Jackson Endlsey and Erick Mejia both tallied two shots of their own while Igor Lumbrano and Matt Myers added one each.

It was tight competition all throughout the match but Chris Pelaez was able to break through in the last 10 to put the Kingsmen on top with an unassisted goal.

The defense cracked down on both sides in the second 45 as only two shots were produced from the Kingsmen offense. Lumbrano only tallied one more save in the second half before the game came to a close.

They come back to William Rolland Stadium to play on Wednesday at 7:00 pm against La Verne.
