Kingsmen Keep a Clean Slate Against the Leopards in a 2-0 Win

The Kingsmen soccer team traveled to La Verne this Sunday evening in hopes of extending their win streak which is exactly what they did!

Kingsmen bested the Leopards 2-0 in their first match up of the season. It was a veteran scoring night as both goals came from seniors on the team.

Christian Gonzalez was the first one to find the back of the net in the 55th minute with an assist from senior teammate Adrian Graciano.

It was a short 11 minutes after that when other senior, Juan Valencia, bagged one for himself.

Despite only having two goals, the Kingsmen out shot the Leopards 21 to 3, putting all three of La Verne's keepers to the test forcing them to make eight saves combined.

Ivan Lumbrano and Davis Sharts split time holding down the goal line and had a strong defensive line in front of them. Lumbrano and Sharts were each tested one time with a shot on goal but safely held the clean slate.

The Kingsmen upperclassman experience showed tonight on the pitch and they look to continue connecting in the games ahead.

They host their first home game of the season this Friday night against Birmingham Southern in William Rolland Stadium at 7 pm.
