Kingsmen Head to Redlands for SCIAC Postseason Tournament Semifinals

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University men's soccer claimed the No. 3 seed in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament and will hit the road to take on No. 2 Redlands on Wednesday at 7 p.m. 

The SCIAC Tournament championship will then take place on Saturday, November 6. The other semifinal pits host and No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps against No. 4 Chapman. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game. 

The SCIAC will charge admission for its championship events, with tickets available through Ticketleap in advance (Ticketleap link here), which are $8 for adults, or free for children under 12 (students with SCIAC ID also receive free admission). Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $10. The live video stream will be run through the SCIAC's web portal (SCIACtv).

Christian Gonzalez leads the offense with four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points. The Kingsmen have seen a balanced offense as 11 more players have scored. Jackson Endsley, Matt Myers and Giovanni Torres each have three and JP Melgoza and Chris Pelaez have each added two. Palaez is tied with Gonzalez for the team-high three assists. 

Ivan Lumbrano has started 17 games in goal. He has a goals-against-average of 1.18 while allowing just 19 goals on the season. He has combined with defensive players, Nick Bryant, Preston Fleming, Ryan Fraye, Cameron Korshavn, Erick Mejia, Caleb Merrill and Tyler Sherard for five shutouts.
