Kingsmen Fall 1-0 to CMS

The Kingsmen soccer team saw a few good chances on goal but were unable to capitalize in their Sunday afternoon away game against CMS.

It was a tight 90-minute battle between the Kingsmen and Stags and it looked like it was heading into overtime until CMS was rewarded a PK in the last five minutes that led to their game winning goal.

Goalkeeper Ivan Lumbrano had himself an incredible game where he had four remarkable saves that kept the Kingsmen in it until the very end. Coming off his line and reading every shot, Lumbrano was a key factor in the defense today.

It was a physical competition this afternoon, resulting in multiple yellow cards and even a red for the Kingsmen.

They had 10 shots testing the Stags keeper but couldn't quite find the back of the net. Center defender Erick Mejia found himself in the attack giving the Kingsmen a great shot at a goal. He got his head on a free kick that was sent across but missed it just wide, hitting the post instead of side netting.

The Stags played tight defense as they knew the Kingsmen were coming off a hot win streak.

The purple and gold return to William Rolland Stadium Wednesday night at 7 pm against Cal Tech.
