Kingsmen Fall 0-2 On The Road

WHITTIER, California – Cal Lutheran men's soccer team hit the road Wednesday night for a conference matchup against Whittier at Memorial Stadium.  The Kingsmen fell to the Poets 0-2.

It was a slow 45 minutes for both teams with a 0-0 score at the half.

Goalkeeper Ivan Lumbrano tallied eight total saves on the night against Whittier's strong offensive efforts.

Chris Paleaz had 3 shots but was unable to get any of them to go. Cameron Korshavn, Juan Valencia, and Erick Mejia each had a shot on goal, but all three were saved by the opposing keeper.

It started to get chippy in Memorial Stadium and three yellow cards were handed out.

The Kingsmen had 12 shots but weren't able to connect with the back of the net.

Despite a strong defensive effort throughout the game, the Poet's offense ended up being just enough to give them the upper hand and get them the conference win.

California Lutheran men's soccer looks forward to their next game versus Redlands. They are back on the road Saturday the 25th for a 7:00 pm kick off.
