Kingsmen Silence the Pioneers with a 3-0 Shutout

The Kingsmen traveled to the University of Antelope Valley for their first game of the 2021 season and brought home the 3-0 win!

The purple and gold started the game strong with 3 early goals and held the shutout with solid defense after that. The defense only allowed two shots on goal, making the clean slate easy for senior goal keeper Ivan Lumbrano.

Freshman John Melgoza was the first one to find the net this afternoon with an assist from junior teammate Giovanni Torres. He was then accompanied on the scoreboard by Christian Gonzalez who had a pair of goals for himself. Michael Bogart and Melgoza assisted Gonzalez.

The Kingsmen out shot the Pioneers 16-2, forcing the opposing keeper to make nine saves.

It was a physical game in Lancaster with a total of 13 fouls but the Kingsmen were still able to get the job done.

The men's soccer team will hit the road again on Sunday September 5th, to face off against the La Verne Leopards at 6:00 pm.
