Kingsmen Secure 1-0 Shut Out Over Caltech

Pasadena, Calif. – Kingsmen soccer got back on track with a 1-0 win over the Caltech Beavers.

The Purple and Gold started the first half with a heavy offensive presence. They tallied eight shots in the first 45 but weren't able to put one away just yet.

Ivan Lumbrano covered the line for all 90 minutes and gathered four saves in the first half.

The two teams went into half time scoreless.

Nine different Kingsmen put shots up but JP Melgoza was the one who put the game away. In the 67th Melgoza crushed a free kick from 20 yards out to find the back of the net.

Chris Pelaez and Igor Lumbrano were the leading shot takers with two chances each.

Michael Bogart, Jackson Endsley, Cameron Pisan and Giovanni Torres tested the keeper themselves with one shot each.

Both center backs, Ryan Fraye and Tyler Sherard, also got in the offense and had a shot at goal as well.

The defensive four locked up the Beaver's offensive line and only allowed them one shot in the second 45 which Lumbrano tallied as a save.

The Kingsmen travel home with a win under their belt. They return to William Rolland Stadium on Saturday to take on Bethesda University at 2 pm during homecoming weekend.
