ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — California Lutheran University student-athlete Olivia Vargas was selected Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.
Vargas earned the conference's Hitter of the Week award for softball. It is her first such honor.
Vargas (Fillmore, Calif.) contributed to eight of Cal Lutheran 14 runs in a series win over the University of La Verne, including hits in every game. She went 6-for-9 with a walk and two extra-base hits, scoring four runs and plating another four while also making 14 assists and two putouts in the field from the hot corner.
