Regals Fall to Chapman Twice on Saturday

ORANGE, Calif. — Cal Lutheran softball fell to Chapman twice on Saturday. The Panthers took both games with the same score of 4-0. 

Game One
Paige Henry was in the circle to start the day and pitched 6.0 solid innings. She gave up six hits and four earned runs. 

Makayla Lopez, Genevieve Avalos, Olivia Vargas, and Jamie Bingaman all recorded a hit for the Regals.

Chapman scored two runs in both the first and second innings. Cal Lutheran fought back, but was held scoreless. The Panthers took game one and the series. 

Game Two
Casey Edwards pitched a complete game, showing the Regals' pitching staff can compete with the top teams in the conference. 

Edwards went the distance and struck out three. She gave up just seven hits and two earned runs. Lopez, Emily Blank, Nadia Montiel, and Nadia Collins all had a hit, but the offense was kept quiet.

Game two was very similar to game one. The Panthers scored two runs in the first and then two in the third. Chapman held of Cal Lutheran and swept the series. 

The Regals' next series is against Pomona-Pitzer. The series starts on Friday at Pomona-Pitzer at 3 p.m.
