Regals Cruise Past Beavers for Sixth Straight Win; Knight Tallies Five Goals

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University women's water polo dominated the Caltech Beavers winning 14–2 on Saturday afternoon.

It was the sixth straight win for the Regals as they improved to 5-1 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and 10-6 overall.

Cal Lutheran allowed a season-low three goals against Caltech. It was the Purple and Gold's fourth straight game, and fifth in their last six, of holding opponents under five points.

Katherine Knight recorded a game-high five goals to lead her team to victory. Nine more Regals found the back of the net. Lexi Rond was next with two goals.

The Regals moved the ball around well. The offense flowed as six Regals recorded an assist. Kemi Dijkstra and Madaline Raab both had three and Kaitlin Gardhouse and Jessica Diaz had two.

The defense continued to enforce its will against opponents, proving why they are the No. 3 team in the nation.

Vianne Will was in goal and made eight saves. The defense recorded 17 steals in all as Diaz had the most with seven. Gardhouse, Bethany Metcalfe and Abby Lanier had two.

The Regals look to continue their win streak as they host Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
