Women’s Water Polo Garners Team Award, 15 Individual Awards

BRIDGEPORT, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's water polo team was honored by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) and earned the Spring 2022 All-Academic recognition. Additionally, 15 Regals earned the individual award. 

As a team, Cal Lutheran finished the 2021-22 academic year with a 3.46 GPA.

Receiving Outstanding recognition was Izzy De Souza, Isabella Garcia, Bethany Metcalfe, Lexi Rond, Hayley Smith, Maddie Stuart and Vianne Will. Superior honors went to Kemi Dijkstra, Jacsen Donohue, Kaitlin Gardhouse, Abby Lanier, Alexa Modry, Camryn O'Neal, Rachel Ray and Tamara Verdiell.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 338 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 336 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 169 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 58 teams.
