Regals Go 1-1 Against Division 1 Opponents In Double Header

Cambridge, Mass. – Regals water polo had a double header in the Harvard Invitational today as they faced two Division I opponents, Mount St. Mary's and Marist.

The Purple and Gold took the first game against The Mount. Alexa Rond led the Regals offense and scored five of their nine goals. Rond tallied one assist, five drawn ejections, and had one steal.

Kemi Dijkstra found the back of the net two times, dished out one assist, and grabbed three steals. Katherine Knight and Kaitlin Gardhouse both had a goal of their own. Gardhouse delivered an additional two assists.

This led them to their 9-6 win over The Mount.

It was a close second game for the Regals against Marist but they came up two goals short in a 13-15 loss.

Rond and Dijkstra combined for eight goals, each grabbing four a piece. Dijkstra added two assists while Rond had one.

Bethany Metcalfe got into the offensive mix with two goals and one assist. Following Metcalfe was Gardhouse, Knight, and Jessica Diaz with a goal each.

Gardhouse led the team with five assists while Dijkstra tallied five steals.

They hop in the pool again tomorrow at 5 AM PST against the University of Indiana.
