INDIANAPOLIS — California Lutheran's Grace Sanchez earned Honorable Mention All-America in the 100-yard freestyle with a 15th-place finish and Ben Brewer finished 18th in the 1,650-yard free on the final day of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.

Altogether, Cal Lutheran garnered four All-American honors during the four-day championships. After the Kingsmen and Regals recorded two All-America honors in 2017, they doubled that number in 2018.

In the prelims of the 100-yard free, Sanchez raced to a quick time of 51.34 seconds. Her time set a new program record. In the finals, she finished with a time of 51.55 and placed 15th as she earned Honorable Mention All-America. On day two, she became the first Regal to earn All-America and she added a second honor on the final day.

Brewer was fighting a cold all week at the championships. He raced the 1,650-yard free on the final day and finished 18th with a time of 16:07.51.

A successful 2018 came to an end for the Kingsmen and Regals at the NCAA swimming and diving championships and ended with four All-America honors.
