THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran Associate Vice President for University Relations Lynda Fulford has announced the hiring of Ryan Jorgenson as the new assistant sports information director with duties effective immediately.

Jorgenson, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, is a 2014 Wartburg (Iowa) graduate with a bachelor's degree in journalism and communication. He is a 2017 graduate of the University of South Dakota (USD) with a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on leadership, communication and sports management.

While at both institutions, Jorgenson worked in the sports information offices. He helped cover all 19 teams as an intern at Wartburg, a nationally-ranked Division III school, before moving on to serve as a graduate assistant at the Division I level with the Coyotes. During his time at USD he was the primary contact for volleyball, golf, women's tennis and swimming and diving while also helping with football, basketball and softball. At Wartburg he was a point person for soccer as well.

Jorgenson's sports information skills include writing recaps and previews, tracking statistics, calling games, and maintaining record books. Additionally, he brings an extensive video background to Cal Lutheran. At Wartburg, he worked with the campus television station to provide clips that included game highlights, interviews and well-developed scripts.

He is looking forward to contributing to the promotion of Cal Lutheran athletics and its student-athletes as he continues to learn and grow as part of the Kingsmen and Regals family.
