Kingsmen win Cal Lutheran Invitational, Regals finish second

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Cal Lutheran men's swimming and diving team claimed eight events as the Kingsmen won the Cal Lutheran Invitational with 1,206 points Saturday morning at the Samuelson Aquatics Center. The women's team won seven events and finished second with 825 points.

Andreas Nybo led the men's team and won three events. He won the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 27.52 seconds, the 100-yard breaststroke with 59.18 and the 100-yard individual medley as he touched in with 54.51.

Jacob Frigard claimed two titles for Cal Ltheran as he raced to a time of 21.81 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle. He also won the 100-yard free with a time of 48.14.

Jonah Hobbs made it six individual wins as he finished the 200-yard free with 1:46.71, The men's team also won the 200-yard free and the 400-yard medley relay.

On the women's side, Mardell Ramirez won five events. She claimed the 50-yard breast (28.63), 50-yard free (24.81), 200-yard free (1:54.33), ,.100-yard free (54.32) and the 100-yard IM (1:04.07).

The women's team added the 200-yard free relay and the 400-yard medley relay to their win total.

Up next for both teams is a dual meet at Chapman on Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m.
