Kingsmen and Regals Fourth in Final All-Sports Standings

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran men's and women's sports teams finished fourth in the 2017-18 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) all-sports combined trophy standings which was released Tuesday morning.

Both the Kingsmen and Regals also finished fourth out of nine teams on their respective sides.

The men totaled 50.5 points. The season included the Kingsmen soccer team placing second in the SCIAC regular season and the swimming and diving team taking third at the SCIAC championships, their best finish in program history. Football also had a top-three finish and tied for third.

For the women, CLU recorded 56.5 points. The Regals won the soccer title during the regular season, their first since 2013. The water polo team took another big step this year and finished second. The basketball and volleyball teams also finished in the top-three. Regals basketball was third and volleyball tied for third.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned the SCIAC all-sports combined trophy including the women's all-sports trophy. Pomona-Pitzer claimed the men's all-sports trophy and finished second in the combined standings. Redlands was third in the combined standings, after placing second for the men and third for the women.
