Regals Soccer in SCIAC Tournament for 16th Straight Year; Every Year Since Inception

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's soccer program has been in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament every year since its inception in 2006. That streak is now up to 16 years after Cal Lutheran finished the regular season 6-1-5 in conference. 

The Regals are the No. 2 seed and are hosting No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the SCIAC Tournament final and will take on No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer or No. 4 Redlands. The championship game is on Saturday at the highest remaining seed with the time to be determined.

Anyone with an ID from a SCIAC institution will get free admission to every SCIAC Tournament game. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketleap for $8, or are $10 at the door. 

The Cal Lutheran offense is deadly with a plethora of Regals getting in on the scoring. 14 Regals have scored, led by Isabella Veljacic with seven. Savana Durr and Danielle Vis have added three each and Ashley Escamilla has two. 

The Regals are one of the best passing teams in the conference. The team has assisted on 15 goals as Jalynne Magana, Elisa Shott, Olivia Suarez, Veljacic and Avery West have two each.

Logan Duford has been a wall in front of the goal. She has totaled over 1,300 minutes with just nine goals against. She has 51 saves, with an .850 percentage, and a goals-against average of 0.61. She has recorded nine shutouts and has a record of 8-3-3.
