Thousand Oaks, Calif. — Cal Lutheran women's soccer conquered the Chapman Panthers 4-1 on Wednesday night at William Rolland Stadium.

The Regals defeated their second straight conference opponent and moved to 3-0-1. They have six of their last eight games and are now 6-3-1 overall.

The first goal of the game was scored by Chapman, 13 minutes into the first half. The Regals refused to be discouraged and in the 23rd minute Ashley Escamilla got her team on the board. It is her second goal of the year and first in conference play.

After celebrating the goal, the Regals continued to play hard in an effort to keep their momentum going. The team was quickly rewarded as Izzy Martinez shot the ball into the Panthers' net.

The first half ended in high spirits. By the time the second half came around, the Regals were put to the test as the Panthers continued to try to make up the difference. Chapman recorded a total of nine shots, with three being on goal. Cal Lutheran goalkeeper Logan Duford made two saves and got the win.

All the while, the offense kept the pressure going as Danielle Vis scored two goals, assisted by Olivia Suarez each time. Cal Lutheran added those two goals in the second half and the rout was on.

The Regals hit the road for their next conference game. Cal Lutheran is at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday  at 11 am.
