THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team wrapped up a five-game homestand by shutting out the Caltech Beavers 1-0 on Wednesday night.

Isabella Veljacic made it three straight games with a goal, as the Regals improved to 3-2 on the season. After a 0-2 start, the Purple and Gold have now won three straight.

Veljacic scored early, finding the back of the net in the 11th minute. Jalynne Magana recorded her first assist of the year, setting Veljacic up for her fourth goal.

The Regals defense dominated the match. The starting back line of Katie Weaver, Aly Legrand, Avery West, and Ally Fisicaro, and the reserves, held the Beavers to zero shots. Goalkeeper Logan Duford combined with the defense for Cal Lutheran's first shutout of the year.

Offensively, the Regals took 10 shots with five being on goal. Veljacic scored the goal off her shot and Cate Boller, Janelle Gutierrez, Magana and Adriana Maroney each added a shot on goal.

Up next, the Regals hit the road for the first time this season. They travel to Texas for two games and start with Texas-Dallas on Friday at 2 p.m. PST.
