Regals Soccer, La Verne Play to 0-0 Tie

LA VERNE, Calif. — After 90 minutes of play, Cal Lutheran women's soccer and La Verne tied 0-0 on Wednesday night. 

The tie brings the Regals to 6-1-4 in conference and 9-4-4 overall. Cal Lutheran will be the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament as they are three points of Redlands and hold the tiebreaker. 

The Regals recorded six shots on goal, but could not break through. Avery West, Danielle Vis, Katie Weaver, Ally Fisicaro, Ashley Escamilla and Darya Rasoli recorded one each. 

Logan Duford was in goal and recorded three saves to record the shutout. The Regals have shutout opponents in nine game this year. 

The Regals nearly played a clean game and only had five fouls to La Verne's 10. Cal Lutheran used those opportunities to their advantage and had 14 shots compared to La Verne's five. Cal Lutheran also controlled the ball on La Verne's side of the field and tallied five corner kicks.  

The Regals have one more game before the regular season ends. Cal Lutheran is at Chapman on Saturday with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
