Tigers Fourth Quarter Run Bests The Regals

Los Angeles, Calif. - The Regals hit the road again to make-up a conference game that had been postponed earlier this season. The Purple and Gold held on through the first three quarters but the last 10 minutes got the best of them. The Tigers pulled out the 61-51 win over the Regals.

The Purple and Gold were hanging tight with the Tigers through the first 10 minutes. They entered the second quarter with a slight deficit of 13-18. They fought back to outscore Occidental 16-10, giving them a one-point lead heading into halftime.

The Regals remained on top through the third quarter and had the three-point lead with ten minutes to go. The Purple and Gold were unable to stop the Tigers offensive efforts and were outscored 9-22 in the final ten minutes.

Grace Godines, a sophomore for the Regals, was the leading scorer with 12 points. She added four offensive rebounds and five defensive rebounds on top of that.

Right behind her with 10 points was Freshman guard Sara Mills. Mills had three rebounds and one assist to add on.

Karina McMillan contributed nine points, six rebounds, three steals, and one assist.

Overall it was a rough shooting night for the regals. Nine different players put up points for the Purple and Gold but it wasn't enough to hold off the Tigers.

The Regals return to Gilbert Arena on Wednesday to take on Caltech at 7 pm.
