Mallory Steals 17 Points From Athenas; Regals Fall

Claremont, Calif. – The Regals traveled to CMS in pursuit of a conference win but came up short with a final score of 57-75.

It was a solid first quarter for the Regals and at the end of the 10-minute period they had the lead of 20-16. It was in the second quarter that they were outscored and entered the half down by five.

The Athenas gained their momentum as the Regals struggled to get back on track after the halftime. CMS took an 18-point lead going into the fourth which was too much ground for the Purple and Gold to make up.

Cameron Mallory was the leading scorer for the Regals and snagged 17 points from the Athenas. This is her third game in a row scoring in double digits. Mallory also tallied four assists in her 30 minutes of play.

Danielle Morgan added to the mix by scoring 10 points when coming off the bench. Morgan had five rebounds, two assists, and one steal on top of that.

Right behind Morgan was Mackenzy Iwahashi and Karina McMillan with seven points each. This was Iwahashi's second game back since the start of the season. Iwahashi tacked on another five assists, two rebounds, and one steal. McMillan added another two rebounds and one steal.

Another four Regals got on the scoreboard tonight to make up their 57 points.

Grace Godines led the team with seven rebounds while Sara Mills tallied an additional two steals.

The Regals return to the court this Saturday when they head to Redlands for a 4 pm tip off time.
