Regals Can't Catch Sagehens; Mills And Morgan Combine For Half Of Regals Points

Claremont, Calif. – The Regals travelled to play the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in hopes of earning their third straight conference win. The Purple and Gold came up short with a score of 47-61.

The game started with momentum in favor of the Sagehens. They put up 21 points in the first quarter compared to the Regals' 10. The Purple and Gold kept it closer in the second quarter but still entered halftime down 23-38.

The Purple and Gold went point for point with the Sagehens in the third but this didn't help their efforts of taking the lead. The Regals held Pomona-Pitzer to their game low scoring quarter in the fourth but it wasn't enough to let them gain sufficient momentum.

Danielle Morgan and Sara Mills combined for half of the Regals points. Morgan and Mills each put 12 points on the board. Morgan added eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Mills contributed six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Aliya DiMuro and Grace Godines each put up seven points.

Kamakani DeBlake, Naomi Gipson, and DiMuro all grabbed five rebounds of their own. The Purple and Gold forced a total of 15 turnovers from the Sagehens.

The Regals host La Verne in Gilbert Arena on Monday at 7 pm.
