Regals Unable To Upset No. 1 Bulldogs; DeBlake Puts Up 18

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – The Regals hosted No. 1 Redlands in Gilbert Arena this Saturday evening. After a strong offensive presence from the Bulldogs, the Purple and Gold weren't able to hold on and lost 85-62.

The Regals stayed in it with the Bulldogs in the first quarter and were only outshot by six points. The second quarter continued with momentum in favor of the Bulldogs and the Regals were down 40-25 entering the halftime.

The Purple and Gold worked back and hung with Redlands for the third quarter. Though their offensive presence in the second half was felt but they were unable to take over the Bulldogs.

Kamakani DeBlake was the leading scorer for the Regals and put up 18 points. She continued to work in the offense with another three assists.

Aliya DiMuro and Grace Godines both started for the Regals and contributed in the offensive efforts. They each recorded 10 points. DiMuro tacked on another two rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Godines recorded a team high four rebounds, two on offense and two on defense. Godines finished up her stats for the night with one assist and one steal.

Naomi Gipson was the last Regal in double digits with 10 points of her own. She recorded a team-high three blocks and had one steal. Cameron Mallory contributed all over the court with eight points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The Regals host Claremont on Wednesday at 7 pm for their senior night.
