Kingsmen Start SCIAC Tournament Play

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's basketball is in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) tournament for the second consecutive year.

The Kingsmen are the No. 4 seed and are at No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer on Friday night at 7 p.m.  The other semifinal matchup is No. 3 Redlands at No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The championship will be played Saturday at the lowest remaining seed. The time is still to be announced.

Anyone with an ID from a SCIAC institution will get free admission to every SCIAC Tournament game. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketleap for $8, or are $10 at the door. 

The Kingsmen are led by Devon Lewis and Tommy Griffitts. Lewis is 17th in the SCIAC with 12.8 points per game and Griffitts is right behind him in 18th with 12.5. Griffitts is eighth with 6.1 rebounds per game and pulls down 2.0 offensive boards a game. Lewis is 12th with 2.8 assists per game, sixth with 1.9 steals and Griffitts is tied for 13th with 0.5 blocks.

Cal Lutheran is fourth in the conference for points allowed and only gives up 72.1 per game. They force the second-most turnovers with 15.5 , have the second-most steals with 8.0 and commit the lowest amount of turnovers at 11.9.
