HONOLULU, Hawaii — Cal Lutheran men's tennis battled, but ultimately came up short as they fell to Hawaii Pacific 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Hawaii Pacific swept doubles competition. Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan fell 6-4 at the No. 1, Cade Haffner and Jacob de la Paz were defeated 6-2 at the No. 2, and Nick Griffin and Friedrich Ludwig lost 6-2 at the No. 3.
Cal Lutheran looked to make a comeback in singles play, but Hawaii Pacific took care of business. McBride fell 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1, Moylan was defeated 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2, de la Paz lost 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3, Haffner was defeated 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4, Ludwig fell 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Shawn Rothermel lost 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 6.
The Kingsmen get back into conference play for their next dual. Cal Lutheran remains on the road and is at Clarmeont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday at 12 p.m.
