Kingsmen Put No. 25 Redlands to the Test

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis put No. 25 Redlands to the test, but the Bulldogs overpowered the Kingsmen and won 6-3 on Friday afternoon. 

The Kingsmen scored the first point of the match as Jake Anderson and Friedrich Ludwig took the No. 3 doubles spot with a score of 8-4. The Bulldogs the other two doubles spots as Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan fell 8-6 at the No. 1 and Darvel Lossangoye and Jacob de la Paz were defeated 8-6 at the No. 2. 

In singles, the Kingsmen won two matches and were close in one more. McBride won 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 2 and Ludwig claimed the No. 6 with scores of 7-5, 7-6 (3). Cade Haffner came up just short at the No. 5 spot. He fell 6-2 in the first set and bounced back to win the second set 6-4. In the tiebreaker, he came up just short and lost 7-10. 

Redlands scored three more points in singles as Lossangoye fell 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1, Moylan was defeated 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 and de la Paz was defeated 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4. 

The Kingsmen are back in action on Monday. Cal Lutheran hosts Grinnell at 2 p.m.
