Kingsmen, Vassar Play to Final Point

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's tennis and Vassar came down to the final point as the Kingsmen fell 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon. 

Vassar took the early lead as they won two of the three doubles matches. Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan scored the first point of the dual as they won 8-4 at the No. 2 spot. Vassar took the next two points as they defeated Darvel Lossangoye and Jacob de la Paz 8-5 at the No. 1 and Rainy Wei and Cade Haffner 8-6 at the No. 3.

The Kingsmen won three singles matches, but ultimately lost as Vassar also took three singles matches and the dual. 

Lossangoya won 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5), at the No. 1, McBride took the No. 2 spot in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, and Haffner claimed the No. 6 spot 6-4, 6-0. 

Cal Lutheran battled the entire day, but de la Paz fell 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3, Wei came up short 4-6, 7-5, 3-6 at the No. 4 and Moylan was defeated 1-6, 2-6 at the No. 5. 

The Kingsmen stay home for their next dual. Cal Lutheran welcomes Babson on Monday at 1 p.m.
