Kingsmen Win Eight Events in Homecoming Dual with Concordia University Irvine

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — California Lutheran University men's swimming and diving won eight events as the Kingsmen hosted Concordia University Irvine on Saturday afternoon. 

The Division II Eagles snuck by the Kingsmen as the meet came down to the final race. The Eagles won the 400-yard free style relay by just .17 seconds and won the dual 132.5 to 129.5. 

Andreas Nybo led the way with three individual wins while Miles Gaitan and Luke Rodarte both had two. 

Nybo claimed the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.25), 100-yard fly (51.22) and 200-yard individual medley (1:56.94). Gaitan took the 100-yard backstroke (56.52) and the 200 back (1:57.31) and Rodarte won the 100-yard breaststroke (56.52) and the 200 breast (2:07.52). 

The trio then combined with Nick Kenny to claim gold in the 200-yard medley relay with 1:34.26. 

The Kingsmen's next meet is at home. Cal Lutheran host Caltech on Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
