Rodarte Wins 100 Breast on Day Three

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Luke Rodarte won the 100-yard breaststroke to lead California Lutheran University men's swimming on day three of the Southern California Interollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships. The Kingsmen are fourth with 410 points. 

Rodarte claimed the event and set a new SCIAC record as he swam to blazing time of 52.98 in the 100 breast. He earned All-SCIAC with the win. 

The 400-yard medley relay team just missed first as Miles Gaitan, Rodarte, Andreas Nybo and Nick Kenny took second in the 400-yard medley relay. The team raced to an All-SCIAC honor with 3:18.62. 

Cal Lutheran had one more All-SCIAC honoree as Nybo was third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.51.

Lincoln Hall and Gaitan both competed in A Finals in their respective events and placed sixth. Hall was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke with 56.80 and Gaitan was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with 52.04. 

The final day of competition consists of the 200-yard backstroke, the 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard butterfly and the 1,650-yard freestyle.
