THOUSAND OAKS , Calif. —Seniors Andreas Nybo and Nathan Seilers and freshman Keegan March all etched their names into the Cal Lutheran record books as Kingsmen swimming and diving competed at the Malibu Invite. The event was hosted by Pepperdine over Friday and Saturday.
March made it into the records book twice during his first collegiate meet. He won the 1,000-yard free and also placed fourth in the Cal Lutheran record book with a time of 10:01.05. He also won the 200-yard free with the eight-fastest time at CLU with 1:43.88.
Nybo's time of four minutes and 52.93 seconds was good for 10 th on the all-time list in the 500 freestyle and Seilers' time of 4:24.88 was good for 10 th-best in the 400-yard individual medley.
March, and seniors Miles Gaitan and Luke Rodarte led the Kingsmen with two individual wins each.
Gaitan won both backstroke events while Rodarte won both breaststrokes. Gaitan won the 200 with 1:58.97 and the 100 with 54.13. Rodarte claimed the 100 breat with 56.66 and then won the 200 with 2:08.28.
Nybo added one more win as he claimed the 200-yard individual medley with 1:26.15.
March,sophomore Marcel Hurtubise, senior Nick Kenny (twice), junior Johnny Ditlof and Seilers also made it to the podium.
March was second in the 100-yard free (47.85), Hurtubise was second in the 100-yard butterfly (52.81), Kenny was second in the 50-yard free (21.59) and was third in the 100 free (47.89), Ditlof was third in the 200 fly (2:04.64) and Seilers was third in the 200 individual medley (2:01.26).
The Purple and Gold also won four relay events.
Rodarte, Gaitan, March and Kenny won the 200-yard free relay with a quick time of 1:16.15. Gaitan, Rodarte, Nybo and March combined to win the 400-yard medley relay with 3:28.31. Gaitan, Rodarte, Nybo and Kenny then claimed the 200-yard medley relay with 1:34.30 and March, Rodarte, Nybo and Kenny finished off the meet winning the 400-yard free relay with 3:09.12.
The Kingsmen continue the season at home with a dual against Concordia on Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.
