THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's volleyball picked up their second sweep of the week with a win over Simpson University on Saturday night.

The Kingsmen demonstrated the ability to maintain their composure at the end of sets and find a way to win. Cal Lutheran improved to 8-5 and recorded their fifth sweep.

The offense for Cal Lutheran was paced by junior Logan Marks and his career high 17 kills. Jake Tucker provided 8 kills while Ben Weber and Noah Rigo each added 7 kills.

Libero Sean Fitzpatrick held down the back row with 16 digs to go with 2 service aces.

Set one remained close until the end. With a 21-20 lead, the Kingsmen went on a three-point run, then traded the final two points, to finish the set 25-21.

The teams continued to trade swings in the second set up until a 22-22 tie. Cal Lutheran again rose to meet the pressure, taking the final three points, and the 25-22 win.

The Kingsmen took an early lead in set three and never relinquished it. The Red Hawks narrowed the gap to two at 9-7, but that was the closest they would come as Cal Lutheran pulled away for a comfortable 25-20 win.
